1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BiographIt ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
BiographIt is an assisted journaling platform that sends AI-generated prompts to designated individuals ("Storytellers") via email. Responses are collected and displayed in a private family timeline. The Service is provided on both free and paid subscription tiers.
3. User Accounts
You must provide a valid email address and verify it to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service.
4. Storyteller Consent
By adding a Storyteller to your family, you represent that you have obtained their consent to receive prompts from BiographIt at the email address you provide. You may not add individuals who have not agreed to participate.
5. Content Ownership
All stories, responses, and content submitted by Storytellers remain the intellectual property of the individuals who created them and the families they belong to. BiographIt does not claim ownership of user-generated content. We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve the Service.
6. AI-Generated Content
Questions sent to Storytellers are generated using artificial intelligence. While we strive to ensure questions are thoughtful and appropriate, we cannot guarantee the suitability of every generated prompt. You may report any inappropriate content to our support team.
7. Privacy & Data
We take your privacy seriously. Story content is stored securely and is only accessible to members of your family group. We do not sell personal data or story content to third parties. We use third-party services (email delivery, payment processing, AI generation) to operate the Service, and data is shared with these providers only as necessary.
8. Subscriptions & Billing
The free tier includes one Storyteller with monthly prompts. Paid subscriptions unlock additional features and are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to send unsolicited messages, harass individuals, or collect content without consent. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. BiographIt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data or content.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of material changes via email.
